Recession Proof Your Health
There has been a lot of changes economically in our country over the past several months. For all intents and purposes we are in a recession, yet it is not going to be officially announced. The reason being is that announcing bad news causes a mental and behavioral shift. In a recession people tend to continue to announce bad news among their peers, which perpetuates a very negative mindset. This in turn influences behavior. If one’s mindset is focused on the negative and constantly being reminded of the negative it becomes increasingly difficult to be productive and creative. I have to say from personal experience, I feel like this has hindered my writing of this blog over the past month. My creativity and initiative were squelched a bit because my focus was distracted by and toward the negative. None of us are totally immune to this.
How did I get out of the funk I was in? How do you overcome writer’s block? Wouldn’t you like to know? I simply removed myself from my environment. I checked out of my daily routine and went to be with people that inspire me. It was not a get together with family and friends to party and hang out. It was an intentional meeting with a small group of entrepreneurs that are looking to simply do better and make a bigger impact. Each day had a focused agenda to solve for some of the headspace and logistical blocks that everyone experiences.
You may have heard the saying that “we become the average of the 6 people we spend the most time with.” I have found this to be spot on in my life. It is why I have become more and more aware of who I am spending my time with. If you don’t have the luxury of having up-level people to associate with, you do have the ability to spend your time reading their life’s work. Reading biographies and non-fictional books from those that you want to be more like is available to all of us. It is just a matter of making that time a ritual and habit that we look forward to, much like getting a chance to talk with your best friend.
We are living in very uncertain times. If we continue to just plug along waiting for it to change it eventually will, because one thing is for sure, change is inevitable. I am not so sure that you will like the change that shows up in your life if you don’t do some serious work to prepare for where we are heading.
In light of this, I believe that going forward, as we navigate the new waters that we find ourselves in, I can offer a recession proof tool to help you to enrich and grow your life. I have decided to begin a new journey of delivering the thoughts and inspirations that I have shared weekly for the past decade in a new format. Beginning in August 2022, I will be publishing a weekly podcast in a short 20–30-minute format that you can listen to over and over again through the week to provide you with a refocusing of you, your mindset whenever you find yourself stuck in a wheel spinning (not getting anywhere), or tail spinning (out of control) moment. The podcast will be titled Recession Proof Your Health. Each week I will dig deep into the thoughts and behaviors that will remove the limitations that we don’t even realize that we have self-inflicted.
Why Recession Proof? It is predicted that no matter who is politically in charge of this country the recession will be with us for several years. This is not a local phenomenon, it is global, and it is not going away anytime soon. I have enjoyed writing a blog weekly to inspire, encourage and share my own life with those that were willing to read it. However, the time has come to shift gears and offer something that has a greater value and utility than just a positive note from your chiropractor. If you have been a loyal reader of the weekly blog, I thank you from the bottom of my heart for allowing me to be an influence in your life. I also want to charge you with the task of sharing what is about to come down the pike with your friends and family. As most of you that have been long time readers know, I am all about helping families to live healthier, happier and more productive lives through all things natural. I think about you and your families constantly, wondering how I can be of greater service to you now and in the future, making sure that your lives don’t slip into the recession with the rest of the world. Stay tuned, we will see you at the top!
